BMW made famous the phrase "6 in line" for a long time this engine being used for different models, most notably BMW M3. But now the challenge is taken even further: 6 in line configuration was used in the moto!
BMW Concept 6 is tangible proof of the achievements Engineering, 6-cylinder engine is 100 mm narrower than any other "6 in line" produced before the Bavarian and only slightly wider than a standard four-cylinder engine, equipping BMW motorcycles.

Another advantage of the new engine is that it provides additional space for intake manifold, above the propeller and benefiting both better aerodynamics and a more efficient cooling. Solution dry sump allows a lower engine positioning, so a lower center of gravity as, while the oil tank is integrated into the rear of the engine block.
Level of performance, maximum torque is 130 Nm estimated at only 2,000 rpm, this engine is ideal for touring BMW motorcycles. At the same time, the new engine of the BMW Concept 6 was designed and green light, use less power than a comparable 4-cylinder engine.
